The Zimbabwe International Gospel Musicians Association (ZIGMA) was launched in December 2006 as part of efforts to unite Zimbabwean Gospel musicians based in the Diaspora. This was after it was realised that there was a considerable number of gospel musicians particularly in the United Kingdom, who were operating at less than their full potential because of lack of exposure. It was felt that these musicians had the potential to make a significant contribution towards the development of Gospel music in Zimbabwe and indeed in the world at large.

It was against this background that ZIGMA was established. Our mandate is to support Zimbabwean gospel musicians to make and distribute their music internationally. We endeavour to assist artists in identifying and engaging polished musicians, recording studios and engineers as well as video photographers. We also assist gospel musicians to showcase their talents through the print and electronic media as well as live shows. We believe that united we are better placed to overcome the challenges that we face as gospel musicians.
